      loaded from fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com discloses every

      That made the published notice untrue. Self-hosting makes it true.

   2. Two render-blocking connections to a third-party origin are removed —
      a DNS lookup, a TLS handshake and a CSS round trip before any text can
      paint, on a site whose buyers are in Nairobi, the Gulf and East Africa.

   3. Fewer single points of failure. The site no longer depends on a service
      it does not control in order to render correctly.

   BOTH FAMILIES ARE VARIABLE FONTS. Google served weights 400, 500 and 600
   as separate declarations pointing at the SAME file, so one @font-face per
   subset with a weight RANGE is equivalent and loads a third as many files.

   Only the latin and latin-ext subsets are carried — the site is in English.
   Buyer-supplied text in other scripts (the quote form accepts any UTF-8)
   falls back to the system font, which is correct behaviour.
