Destination markets

Destination decides more of a flower purchase than most buyers expect. It sets the duty, the tax base, the paperwork, how often a consignment is opened and how much delay risk the lane carries.

Why destination is a specification field, not an afterthought

Two consignments of identical flowers, leaving the same packhouse on the same day, meet entirely different regimes depending on where they land. One may enter at 0% duty; another at 5% with tax charged on top of the duty. One may be physically opened at the border a quarter of the time; another almost never.

None of that is negotiable, and none of it appears on a photograph.

How these pages are written

The whole route in one page — Kenyan side, aircraft, every destination border — with each step linked to its instrument →

Each market page states the position with the authority that published it and the date we read it. Where a requirement is not established from a current, official source, the page says so rather than repeating something we cannot verify — and explains why that matters to you.

We add a market page when we can answer a buyer's question accurately, not when we would like to appear in a search result.

Tell us what you need

A quotation depends on specification, volume, frequency, destination and season. The more precisely you can describe the requirement, the more useful our reply will be — and every technical field has an “I don’t know yet” option if you are still working it out.
